Bosnia and Herzegovina
I took a road trip through Bosnia where I visited Mostar and then spent time in Saravejo, the capital city. Remnants of the turbulent Bosnian War and the Sarajevo Siege are all over the city due to lack of funding and for remembrance. I spent time in Sniper Alley (the main boulevard in Sarajevo which during the Bosnian War was lined with snipers’ posts, and became infamous as a dangerous place for civilians to walk), the old town and visited The War Tunnel (Tunnel of Hope) that was used for bringing food and supplies into city and for refugees to escape during the Sarajevo Siege in the Bosnian War. I also walked the abandoned Olympic bobsleigh and luge tracks from when Sarajevo hosted back in 1984 on Trebevic mountain.
