CROATIA
I did a road trip with a friend through Croatia. We started in Zagreb and drove west to Rijeka, then north to Opatija, two beautiful coastal towns on the Adriatic Sea. After, we spent time on Krk, the largest island in the Adriatic. Then we drove to the south and spent time in Split, an ancient city in Croatia with ruins dating back to the Roman Empire, second-largest city and the largest city in the Dalmatian coast. We drove to the walled city of Dubrovnik, that dates back to 13th century also on the Dalmatian coast, encircled with massive stone walls.
Before crossing the border into Bosnia and Herzegovina we made it to Hvar Island, where we discovered one of the most remote beaches maybe ever! I survived driving stick shift on these windy, steep, narrow gravel mountain roads with over 600 foot drops of cliffs surrounding us. Crystal clear waters with thick pine forests and vertical mountains.
